My name is Rick and I’m a 55-year-old man. When I was a kid, I had the first feelings of being gay, although not understanding it. In 1977, I watched a television miniseries called “Jesus of Nazareth”. It had a profound impact on me.

In December of that year a friend named Dale invited me to an evening service at his church and it was there that I first professed faith in Jesus Christ to be saved. From that time on all the way to the year 2020 I was always in the belief that my salvation could be lost, and it was doubly hard because of my struggles with homosexuality.

Aside from a couple encounters with other boys my age in 1978 & 79, I’ve never had sex with another man. I watched a brother in Christ on YouTube named Chad from Watchman on the Wall 88 who always emphasized The Gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. I came to understand the true simplicity of the gospel and that I can’t loose it. For all those years I couldn’t rightly explain the gospel and if I tried, it was in the false belief that you had to do works to help Jesus keep you saved.

I now rest in my salvation because Jesus said my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Jesus is the narrow gate and belief in nothing else will save you. Thank you for hearing me out. God Bless you all.
